Technology Driven Custom Fabric and Metal Products.

In a world where nearly the entire globe is experiencing technological advancements, and almost everyone is digitally savvy, technology-driven processes have never been more relevant. At Canvas Craft, we are not left behind by the changing times and customer trends, which is why we are always looking into ways we can advance our technology. Over many years, we have incorporated a lot of technology into our operations to help us provide better services, scalability, and preciseness to our esteemed customers.

And while It goes without saying that we also have trained sewers and fabricators who are able to create with their hands, many of our products and projects today require technology to provide a more efficient and scalable solution. Let's look at a few ways we have integrated technology into our processes over time to better service delivery. Here are some notable ways:

“Most of our projects begin with a keen eye from our design and engineering team. We believe that solid design drives everything from quality to price, so it’s important to get it right the first time. By spending time at the beginning of each project to do so, the success of our client’s efforts is drastically improved.”

Digitizing Patterns

From traditional hand-drawn models to challenging paper patterns, Canvas Craft has made it easier than ever before to digitize patterns. We take designs and create digital re-purposable patterns so that our customers can get perfect products at scale. The whole process of turning physical and analog patterns into digital forms is streamlined and well-run by our team of dedicated workers.

And unlike the past, where this would require a lot of time and manpower, today, photo digitizing has made it easier to produce large volumes of products (1000+ at a time). Moreover, technology has made our pattern digitizing method suitable for application in nearly any type of fabric available.

Exporting Patterns to Cutting Table

Once digitized (or in some cases hand patterned), we take the patterns and export them onto a cutting table. The whole process of exporting the pattern onto the cutting table is made with precision, care, and a keen focus on the quality to avoid any flaws. This ultimately enables us to template some of our overly custom work, making us more efficient for the second, third, hundredth or thousandth order.

Automated Cutting Solutions

With the pattern being exported to the cutting table, we can now automate the cutting with our Autometrix cutting table. Whether it is fabric, foam, or leather, the automated cutting tables have the ability to plot and accurately cut into your desired form and shape. And the best part is perhaps the speed, precision, and reliability that it offers. Regardless of the cutting material options out there, Autometrix is always getting the job done efficiently.

That said, here are more reasons why we rely on this Autometrix machine for our cutting orders:

  • Accuracy: The high levels of accuracy offer us nothing but impeccable outcomes.

  • Quick pattern creation: Whether it is drafting, editing, or aligning the materials, it allows us to create patterns with a lot of ease and consistency.

  • Saves time and material: Due to its high levels of accuracy, the machine not only processes patterns faster but also focuses on waste and inventory reduction.

  • Customer and employee satisfaction: If there's one thing that has always ensured our customers keep smiling, then it has got to be this machine's capability. The excellence it provides amazes and simplifies work for even our staff.

With enhanced precision, less waste, and increased productivity, technology has enabled us to meet countless demands from all our customers and in good time. This automated cutting machine has been our go-to answer, and it will continue to reign even in the future.

Heat Welding

Apart from our automated cutting machine, we also utilize a heat welding tool called T600 Extreme Flex. It allows for the use of hot air or wedge welding technologies with a collection of seam varieties and protracted fabric control support. This goes a long way in adding value and aesthetic appeal to our custom fabric and metal products. Additionally, heat welded seams are superior to sewn seams, as they are stronger, last longer and provide better water repellency.

The dual heat system of the T600 Extreme also allows full product flexibility. What's more, it has numerous seam configurations and guides to help standardize the manufacturing process.  Not to mention the fact that it equally enhances product versatility, thanks to its dual arms. For instance, seasonal vestibules that offer temporary protection from the elements, let's say during winters, are a good example of its versatility.

In summary, technology continues to help us advance many industries and provide our customers with the most competitive pricing and timelines on the market. With the addition of this equipment over the last many years, we've become more distinguished as the go-to fabric and metal fabricator in the area.

So, if you are looking for the latest metal and fabric trends and opportunities available, you should look no further as we've got that covered. We're a versatile shop that can handle a  project from design, prototype, and fabrication to final installation and production.  We are fabric experts that have passion, experience, and the right technology for helping you meet your goals.
