Awnings, Custom Covers & Fabric Products
$20–$25/hr, based on experience | Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM | Otsego, MN
Canvas Craft has been building custom fabric and metal products in Otsego since 1977. We make awnings, shade structures, marine covers and industrial fabric solutions. We're a small company with a tight crew, and the work changes every day. One day it's a commercial awning cover. The next, you're figuring out how to build an odd-shaped cover for a piece of equipment.
We're looking for an experienced sewer to take on our more complex work. You'll work alongside our fabrication, metal and install teams.
What You'll Do
Build custom awnings, covers, curtains and fabric products from drawings, patterns and specs
Plan the build on complex, one-off jobs and flag issues before cutting
Set up, adjust and run industrial machines (walking foot, double needle and others)
Work with heavy materials like vinyl, acrylic canvas, mesh and clear vinyl
Inspect your own work for fit, finish and durability
Be a go-to sewer for complex jobs and help train newer team members
What We're Looking For
Several years of industrial or commercial sewing experience (awnings, marine canvas, upholstery, tarps, covers or similar)
Experience setting up and adjusting your own industrial machine
Ability to read drawings, measure accurately and work from patterns
Pride in clean, straight, durable work
Reliable, shows up and communicates
Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
